Severstal uniform sets for a double anniversary

In 1955, Cherepovets saw its first ice rink — marking the beginning of the sport’s development in the region. Seventy years later, Severstal has become one of Russia’s most prominent hockey clubs and a contender for the top spot in the KHL Western Conference standings. The uniform design created for the double anniversary reflects the shared history of the steel plant and the hockey club.

During the 2025/26 anniversary season, the club from northwest Russia wears a commemorative patch reading «70 Years of Cherepovets Hockey» on its jerseys.

Uniforms

The yellow-and-black color combination is unique in Russian hockey and is associated exclusively with Severstal. While the graphics differ slightly between the black home kit and the yellow away kit, the overall design language remains consistent. Yellow jerseys on the road games makes Severstal brighter and more noticeable for neutral fans. To complete this bold look, the club pairs the kit with a white helmet, tied together by a striking white collar.

Alternate uniforms

The third kit’s design stands in sharp contrast to the strict aesthetic of the primary uniforms. In the numbers, graphics, and logo, yellow is replaced with a molten-metal print. In the Lynx logo, the texture is rendered through embroidery using metallic threads, emphasizing the visual effect of thermal ore processing.

The second alternate uniform is fully dedicated to ChMK — the Cherepovets Steel Mill — and is based on the corporate colors and pattern of the club’s title sponsor, Severstal PJSC. At the bottom of the anniversary patch, an industrial silhouette of the plant’s production buildings is depicted.
