Black and red: the development of the SKA-Neftyanik identity
One of the behemoths of the Russian bandy was founded in 1947, when the more familiar name of the sport used to be “Russian hockey”. Since the mid-1950s the club has been getting medals regularly and has accumulated 23 sets. Gold has come in recent history: since 2017 SKA-Neftyanik has taken five titles. In the 2023/24 season Khabarovsk team entered as a reigning champion of Russia with a delicately updated identity.
The studio has developed a game kit design, merch and a set of sublogotypes. The main logo has undergone minor technical adjustments.
Sublogos
In addition to victories in the Russian championships, Khabarovsk team boast numerous Cups of the USSR and Russia in their collection.
The sublogo pack contains stylized coats of arms of the Khabarovsk Territory and the city, a flag and a recognizable mascot — the boar Zhorka, who can be actively used in the club’s clothes and merchandise lines. Taking into account the proximity of the city to China, the simplified lettering logo is made in Russian and Chinese.

Game kits are built on a pixel gradient from black to red on the home set and from yellow to red on the guest set. The effect implies that the color transition looks smooth from a distance, and the graphics become visible in close-ups of a TV broadcast.
In the center of the jersey is the club’s logo: a star and a lettering SKA with light edges. All additional elements on the jersey — game numbers and surnames, logos and advertising — are implemented with embroidery. As for bendy jerseys, sublimation is traditionally used as a preferable printing process, therefore SKA paid special attention to the production.

Goalie kit

The goalkeeper’s uniform is represented by two sets: blue and gray-lilac. Unlike the shape of the field players, the graphics on the goalkeepers’ jersey are made using random pixel spots designed to “break” the goalkeeper’s figure.

There are two options of the captain’s armband — in red and yellow colors. In bendy it is worn on the jersey sleeve.

Merch
Yerofey Arena is the largest specialized indoor stadium for bandy in the world. Its stands are installed close to the ice rink. Thanks to the new merch with recognizable logos, the noisy support of the fans will become even more noticeable.
