Redesign of Dinamo-Minsk

HC Dinamo-Minsk, 2019
LOGO • SUBLOGO • FONTS WORK • UNIFORM • PATTERNS • GUIDES

The actual logo of Dinamo-Minsk is already 10 years old and it has collected a number of shortcomings, due to both age and insufficient level of development. Minskers urgently needed to reboot and enter the 2019/20 season with a fresh, up-to-date identity.

The new lettering is based on a classic calligraphic inscription. Rigid geometry looks modern and sporty aggressive.

The main symbol of the club, the bison, was rethought. It has a strongly marked charisma and geometry. For the most attentive fans there is a secret: the letter M is encrypted in the bison wool, emphasizing the geographical location.

Club colors were corrected — black and burning blue entered the palette. The home kit of Dinamo will be one of the most recognizable in the season. For additional identification, a pattern has been developed. We unobtrusively integrated the national ornament into all sets of forms through a fresh and effective technique — perforation of numbers with a graphic gradient.

For the first time in the KHL, the team has a unified glove design code. Horns or ‘sign of the horns’ appeared on the hockey players’ gloves, as rock lovers used to call it. Horns — the main weapon of the bison, as well as the hockey player's hands — a weapon with which it makes biting wrist throws and scores the goals. The club really liked this idea and, even cooler, it was implemented.

It is quite difficult and costly to make the whole team the same gloves with a single design code, but in Dinamo-Minsk they equipped all hockey players with such gloves from the start of the season and became the first team in the KHL to be dressed so monolithically and meaningfully.
